As part of our mandate in enhancing quality assurance in Tertiary and Higher Education in the Gambia, today we organize a five day workshop on General University Administration specially designed for senior administrative staff ( Registrars, Deputy Registrars, and Principal Assistant Registrars ). The Chief Executive Dr. Momodou Lamin Tarro welcomed all participants and assured them of a fruitful deliberation.
The Permanent Secretary Ambassador Jainaba Jange of The Ministry of Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology (MoHERST) delivered the keynote address stating that MoHERST remains firmly committed to supporting professional development opportunities. The Ministry recognizes that this does not only enhance institutional effectiveness but also contribute to the realization of a broader national goal in higher education, research, and innovation.
She further stated that, as we navigate the evolving landscape of higher education, it is imperative that we equip our administrators with the necessary tools and frameworks to respond to emerging challenges and uphold the values of transparency, accountability, and excellence in service delivery.
She concluded with the believe that, the deliberations over the next few days will be insightful, collaborative, and solution-oriented. Therebefore, she urge all participants to fully engage, share experiences, and take away actionable strategies that will help advance not only their leadership and management capabilities but also their institutional effectiveness and efficiency.
