Dr. Momodou Lamin Tarro is the newly appointed Chief Executive Officer of the National Accreditation and Quality Assurance Authority (NAQAA), effective July 1, 2024. His leadership marks a new chapter for NAQAA, following the legacy of the late Dr. Gibril Jaw, with a commitment to maintaining excellence and continuous improvement in The Gambia's tertiary and higher education sector.
With decades of experience in university management and administration, Dr. Tarro is poised to lead NAQAA with a vision of enhancing the quality of education and upholding national standards.
From his roots in Bakau to his academic pursuits abroad, Dr. Tarro brings a wealth of knowledge, making him the ideal candidate to guide NAQAA into the future of quality assurance in higher education.
Having served as the Registrar at the University of The Gambia, Dr. Tarro has successfully managed multiple key university roles, making significant contributions to policy development and university governance.
Dr. Tarro holds multiple degrees, including a PhD in Public Administration, two Master's degrees, and a Bachelor's in Political Science. His academic journey, combined with extensive administrative experience, reinforces his expertise in education policy, leadership, and public sector management.
